About the Deacon's Ministry
The Deacon’s Ministry at CPC is an integral part of the life of our church body. We seek to serve Christ and to serve the needs of our church family in a united, pro-active manner. We work together single-mindedly as we serve Christ with the gifts he has given each of us. Learn more about how you can get involved below.
Ushers extend hospitality to guests and church members, so that everyone has a positive worship experience. They often make some of the first impressions that others have of CPC. As a result, they have the unique opportunity to set the tone for each person’s visit to our church. Ushers warmly welcome worshippers to the Sanctuary and provide assistance as needed. In addition, they help others by maintaining order and eliminating potential distractions.
Greeters welcome everyone to the church. They greet visitors in a warm, friendly manner and may personally escort them as needed. Afterward, the Welcome Center or Deacon or Elder on Call provide helpful information about our church to guests.
The Safety Team provides for the safety and well-being of all who enter our facility. Additionally, we act as careful and faithful stewards of all that we have been given by God. Primarily through observation and communication, we assist church staff and uniformed security personnel as we minister to members and visitors.
During times of special needs our Meals & Care ministry provides meals to families or individuals. For example, we coordinate meals after the birth of a child, a death in the family, or a medical crisis. Willing members of the congregation support our ministry by providing meals on a volunteer basis.
