Originally from Houston\, Texas Todd was raised and educated as a Southern Baptist. He is a graduate of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City. He has served churches in Oklahoma\, Kansas and Philadelphia\, Pennsylvania. Over a period of years he came to embrace the Reformed faith and has been a happy Presbyterian ever since. In his free time Todd is a cohost of the Mortification of Spin podcast and blog. Since 1990 Todd has been married to Karen and they have three children. They love living in the Shenandoah Valley and are grateful to call Covenant their home.

DESCRIPTION:All adults are encouraged to come to our All-Church Prayer Gathering on January 7 at 10 am in the Chapel. We will use this guided prayer gathering to pray together for the ministries at CPC\, for the needs and challenges facing us as individual believers and as families at CPC\, for the pressing circumstances and burdens that confront believers and unbelievers alike in our fallen world\, and for the advance of the gospel in our own midst and beyond. Our prayer time will conclude at 10:45 am. Adult Sunday school classes will not meet. Middle school and high school students will be gathering in the Barn to have breakfast together and share in a time of prayer\, as well. Children’s Ministry will meet as usual.

DESCRIPTION:The Concert Choir & Orchestra\, along with special guest soloists\, present Handel’s Messiah at 8 pm December 7\, 8 & 9\, 2023. \nFree general admission tickets will be available at 7 pm each evening for that evening’s performance. Tickets are distributed on a first-come\, first-served basis\, so please arrive early. \nAs our nineteenth season unfolds\, we anticipate yet another wonderful experience for the Christmas season. The CPC choir and orchestra along with special guest soloists will once again delight you with this special masterwork. Handel’s Messiah has become a wonderful tradition here at Christ Presbyterian Church in Houston. \nThis year’s Messiah performances will again be highlighted by our 17th century Flemish harpsichord. This instrument is an authentic Flemish style single manual instrument after Ruckers as designed by Marc Ducornet with all parts and materials from Atelier Marc Ducornet in Paris\, custom built by Gerald Self. \nIt is an honor to be able to present this wonderful masterwork.
