DESCRIPTION:7:00 pm Tenebrae Service [also livestreamed] \nBefore there was the bright glow of Easter\, there was darkening…a time when events and situations worked deviously to a glorious end; a time when Jesus’ disciples were confounded and confused\, when the darkness seemed to win. And yet\, during those days…even then…God the Father worked his will. \nThe church has observed this service of Tenebrae (Latin meaning the darkening) in some form since the 12th century. Bring your family and friends to enjoy some delicious food and great fellowship on the back lawn. Expect an Easter egg hunt for the children and fun family games.  \nA boxed lunch will be provided for students and adults. The meal will include a sandwich (your choice of turkey\, chicken salad\, or roast beef)\, chips\, and a cookie. Or\, if you prefer\, you can choose a kale cranberry pepita salad\, with a mini baguette and a cookie.  \nA chicken tender lunch will be provided for all children 5th grade and under.

DESCRIPTION:Women\, please join us for our Women’s Retreat at Camp Allen on March 24-26. You will not want to miss this opportunity to study and discuss the Word of God together\, rest\, and deepen friendships with other women in our church. \nWe will spend Friday evening through Saturday evening at Camp Allen\,  attend worship together on Sunday morning\, and conclude our retreat with a final session during the Sunday school hour. \nPlease do not delay registration! Once we reach capacity for the overnight slots\, a second registration for Saturday\, March 25\, will open. Prior to serving at Briarwood\, Kristie spent over 20 years serving in various Student Life Departments on four different college/university campuses in Mississippi\, Texas\, South Carolina and Alabama. Her educational/training pursuits led to a BBA degree from Mississippi State University and a M.Div. degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kristie currently lives in Helena\, AL where she enjoys gardening and relaxing with her 2 cats.
